Restoration

“Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.”        2 Chronicles 7:14 NLT

For as long as residents could remember,Manchester, along with much of Eastern Kentucky had been a high crime area. Drugs and drug related crimes were so prevalent, it had earned the nick-name “Pain-killer Capitol of the World.” Because of high unemployment, young people left the community after their high school graduation. Older residents lived in fear.
But when pastors and church members got serious about praying, they sent a message to drug dealers in their community to “get saved or get busted.” God came and settled in their community making a noticeable difference. Law enforcement officials took a renewed interest in arresting and prosecuting drug offenders. Those involved with selling and using drugs began to get saved. The crime rates plumeted.Businesses began to thrive.
Even the landscape around the area changed. Indigenous wildlife which had become scarce began to return to the area. God even began restoring the natural beauty and plant life of the area. All because people got serious about praying.
Lord, Help us  to get serious about prayer, seeking your face and turning  beck to You. Amen!
